Thru the end of the year, Jayne and I are raising funds for ALK-positive cancer research in honor of Lung Cancer Awareness Month. All gifts go to ALK Positive, Inc., an patient- and caregiver-led 501(c)3 nonprofit group that funds cutting-edge research projects and supports ALK-positive patients. This month only, donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by generous donors--up to $500,000!
Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. Yet, lung cancer receives less research funding per death than any other type of cancer. Even so, research in recent years has already extended the lives of so many ALK-positive patients. I am living proof!.
We are on the verge of turning what was once a terminal illness into a manageable, chronic condition, like diabetes often is. And so, ALK Positive patients fundraise for our own futures, for groundbreaking research that is ALK-specific and patient-focused.
