Hello everyone! My name is David. I am married with 2 adorable and energetic kids, a former Division 1 athlete, and a “never-smoker”. After experiencing a sharp pain in my chest, I was diagnosed with Stage IV ALK+ lung cancer at 38 years old. ALK Positive is a patient-driven group consisting of 3,000 + ALK+ lung cancer patients and their caregivers. ALK Positive directly supports high-impact research that improves patient outcomes and has the potential to transform ALK-positive lung cancer into a chronic (and maybe someday, cured) condition. I currently am benefiting from a drug approved as a first-line treatment for ALK+ cancer only two years ago. There are clinical trials in development and underway that have the potential to add years to the lives of ALK+ patients like me. More research is more life.
