About Nathan's Birthday!!

In 2020, I was diagnosed with lung cancer, and three years ago on my 31st birthday, I started an oral treatment. Over the last 10 years, life expectancy has jumped up by years thanks to research and new treatments. With today's treatments, I'm hoping I'll be able to see Lorelei graduate.

I am doing as well as I am today largely thanks to a clinical trial where I was randomized to a targeted treatment. Only a few good treatment options exist right now for ALK Positive cancer, and they're all effective for only a handful of years. The hope is that someday a treatment can turn this diagnosis from terminal to chronic.

This organization means a lot to me since they fund research into new treatments for my diagnosis, and the social group provides me the opportunity to talk to a ton of great people who are walking a similar path. Supporting this organization allows for more research to develop more treatments to give me and others more time.
