Dave’s Story – In January 2023 I was diagnosed with stage IV Lung Cancer. I was 56 and otherwise a healthy and active NON SMOKER. This news was devastating and terrifying for myself, my wife and our 2 daughters.

Genetic testing of my biopsy showed I was ALK positive which is a rearrangement of a gene, resulting in uncontrolled cell replication – causing cancer.

Thanks to advancements in research, scientists and doctors continue to develop various therapies to treat this genetic mutation. Life expectancy has significantly increased for people like me, but we need to find a cure.

ALK Positive.org is a patient-led organization dedicated toward improving the life expectancy and quality of life for ALK-positive cancer patients worldwide. They fund groundbreaking research and increase patient education, awareness and resources.
